On February 3, 2014 the South Carolina Lawyers Weekly publication released the top 25 verdicts and settlements for South Carolina in 2013. The list represents the highest dollar amount awards and settlements in a South Carolina Court or as a result of work done by South Carolina lawyers reported to Lawyers Weekly.

Two cases handled by Finkel Law Firm LLC in 2013 were represented on the Top 25 List. The cases and outcomes are listed below:

# 17 - Attorneys Bill Padget and Howard Sheftman obtained a $1.5 million settlement on behalf of a 68 year old female client stemming from a car accident in Lexington County, South Carolina. The Plaintiff was a passenger in truck that was rear ended on a two lane road. The Defendant driver impacted the rear of Plaintiff's truck, causing the Plaintiff's truck to collide with the rear of the truck stopped in front of her. Plaintiff suffered leg and back fractures and was hospitalized.

# 21- Attorneys Bill Padget and Harry L. Goldberg represented the family of a 69 year old woman who died as a result of medical error in a South Carolina hospital. The family received at $1.4 million settlement and had an additional $1.2 million of medical bills waived by the Defendant hospital. The case stemmed from the failure of doctors and hospital personnel to recognize that they had misplaced a breathing tube, causing the patient to lose oxygen and ultimately die from her injuries.
